About Me
I am Greg Libenson, an Ottawa-based software professional with nearly four decades of experience in application development, architecture, modernization, integration, cloud delivery, and technology consulting.

Professional Background
My career spans enterprise systems, government applications, cloud platforms, data solutions, business integration, and full-stack software delivery. I have worked with federal departments and Crown corporations, including National Defence, Health Canada, Shared Services Canada, Natural Resources Canada, Public Safety Canada, the Tax Court of Canada, Transport Canada, and Export Development Canada.
I bring together architecture-level thinking and hands-on development. I am comfortable discussing target-state architecture and modernization strategy, but I am equally comfortable working directly with C#, .NET, Java, Python, React, Oracle, SQL Server, Azure, Power Platform, Dynamics 365, SharePoint, REST APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.
What I Do
I design and modernize secure enterprise applications, integrate business systems, improve deployment processes, and help organizations replace fragile legacy solutions with maintainable technology.
My work often involves understanding an existing environment, identifying practical modernization options, designing an achievable solution, and then supporting the implementation through development, integration, testing, and deployment.
AI and Emerging Technology
I am expanding my architecture practice into enterprise artificial intelligence through OpenAI technologies, Semantic Kernel, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, intelligent automation, agentic workflows, and natural language processing.
This work builds on a long-standing personal interest in language technology, including a multilingual NLP project covering Germanic, Romance, Slavic, Semitic, and Turkic language families.
How I Work
I value practical solutions, clear technical reasoning, maintainable design, and honest communication. I have spent much of my career working in complex public-sector environments where security, accessibility, reliability, documentation, and long-term support matter as much as the initial implementation.
I am bilingual in English and French, hold an active Government of Canada security clearance, and am based in Ottawa, Ontario.
